We are starting off today posting about an older Tweet we did based on a tweet from @JudgeCarterwe will be back tracking some of the more interesting tweets to start.
It looks as if the Kanye West of the Austin Legal World AKA George Lobb popped in to crash the party during the ground breaking ceremonies for a new courthouse in Austin Texas.
Now I can understand how this Andy Austin fellow might be upset, but I don’t understand the quote “It was almost like this Forrest Gump thing.”. Forest Gump had a great run of luck and always was respected and admired in the end by anyone close enough to know him. Mr. Austin also goes on to say “It’s going to be the photograph that you kind of look back on”. Well I sure bet this is going to be THE picture he looks back on later, he might even get a lot of chuckles or great roars of laughter all around with this one.
Just picture it now. A future Andrew Austin sitting back in his office talking to a friend “… And then there was that time when we were breaking ground for that old courthouse in Austin. And there was this jackass George Lobb and his cocky grin all the way…” when his friend cuts in “… We call him President Lobb now Andy”.
With the being said what future does this Lobb guy have in the legal system when he literally has every person responsible for the creation of the building in which he works gunning for him. Will these dusty old legal types forgive and forget? We cant peg @JudgeCarter in the dusty category, the man has Twitter and doesn’t get some publicist to do it for him… I think. But if it wasn’t for George Lobb this little event would have been just a local thing. This had people laughing all the way up in Canada where they can empathize with not wanting to be rude and asking “Excuse me? What the hell are you doing here with a Home Depot themed shovel?”
I am pondering how exactly he got in the photograph. Was this premeditated ceremony crashing? Was he just hanging out chatting with the senator and judge crew before the shot and kinda got roped in? Did he think this was an open house for anyone who passed the bar exam? The fact that he brought his own shovel and hardhat might point to premeditated. But who ever gave him a gold ceremonial shovel needs to hop on the ‘obvious bus’ or watch a little old fashioned Sesame Street. “One of these things is not like the other…”.
Well the good thing is that there were enough golden shovels to go around and Mr.Lobb did not end up with one in his inventory, though I would have liked to have seen the look on his face when the Federal Protective Service officials showed up to his home looking for a golden shovel. The fact that Mr. Lobb would go through such great lengths just to get a snap shot of him being part of the club sure shows how much he is dedicated to his future. This guy is a go-getter.
George Lobb has a dream. And we should be thankful it is not as a soldier due to his ineffective camouflage skills. We here at halfinformed.com suggest the next time George Lobb tries something like this again that he ditches the hardhat. “the nail that sticks out” kind of thing. And also not to go out on any hunting trips with the Courtroom Crowd for a while.
